Fidelity receives compensation from the ETF sponsor and/or its affiliates in connection with a marketing program that includes promotion of iShares ETFs and certain commission waivers. Additional information about sources, amounts, and terms of compensation is described in the ETF’s prospectus and related documents. Fidelity may add or waive commissions on ETFs without prior notice.

When do the 25 commission-free iShares ETFs become available?

Orders entered for trading beginning February 3, 2010 will receive commission-free trades.

Commission-free trades apply to all online buy and sell transactions on 25 iShares ETFs and Fidelity's NASDAQ Composite Index Tracking Stock (ONEQ).

How did Fidelity choose the 25 iShares ETFs that are being offered commission-free?

These 25 iShares offer our customers access to domestic equity, international, and fixed income ETFs. A customer may use these products to supplement an existing portfolio or to create an entire portfolio, without paying a single brokerage trading commission.

How do the expense ratios of the 25 iShares ETFs compare to other leading ETFs?

iShares ETFs are well known by institutional and retail investors for having some of the lowest expense ratios available. It is easy to compare the expense ratios of any ETFs from Fidelity’s ETF Research Center.

Are there any restrictions on the commission-free ETF trades?

The commission-free trades on the 25 iShares ETFs must be done online at Fidelity.com, Active Trader Pro, Wealth-Lab Pro, or through Fidelity's wireless channels. Commission-free trades apply to all buy and sell transactions on eligible iShares ETFs. All iShares ETFs are not margin eligible for 30-days from settlement, similar to mutual funds. For margin customers, positions will automatically become margin eligible in their account after 30 days from settlement.
