Description |
| Government Bond Funds |
Funds that primarily invest in U.S. government securities which may include mortgage securities. |
| Mortgage-Backed Bond Funds |
Funds that invest primarily in bonds backed by pools of mortgages. Mortgage securities may be U.S. government securities or securities issued by a bank or other financial institution. |
| Broad Market Bond Funds |
Funds that invest primarily in investment-grade bonds, such as corporate, government and mortgage securities. |
| Global Bond Funds |
Funds that invest in debt securities of issuers in foreign countries, including emerging markets. They may invest in equity securities of emerging market issuers, debt securities of non-emerging market foreign issuers, and lower quality debt securities of U.S. issuers. |
| High Yield Bond Funds |
Funds that normally invest in high yielding debt securities with an emphasis on lower-quality debt securities. |
