Direct Deposit your Federal income tax refund into your Fidelity Account(s)
You may be able to direct deposit your IRS or state tax refund into your Fidelity
account(s). Refer to IRS or state instructions on direct deposit to determine if you can use this feature.
Tax refunds deposited into a Fidelity IRA in 2011 will be treated as 2011 tax–year contributions. The 2011 aggregate annual contribution limit for Roth and Traditional IRAs remains unchanged from the 2010 limit — $5,000 ($6,000 if you are age 50 or over as of 12/31/11). If you wish to designate the refund deposit as a 2010 tax–year contribution, please contact a Fidelity representative after the deposit has been received by Fidelity. In order to qualify as a 2010 tax–year contribution, the deposit must be received by Fidelity no later than April 18, 2011. Please note: The 2010 aggregate annual contribution limit for Roth and Traditional IRAs is $5,000 ($6,000 if you are age 50 or over as of 12/31/10).
For IRS refunds, if you are depositing your refund into only one account, you can simply fill out the two lines in the refund section of Form 1040 or Form 1040–A – one line is for the routing number and the other one for your account number (see below). If you want to deposit your refund into two or more accounts, you will need to fill out IRS Form 8888 and indicate on Form 1040 or Form 1040-A that you have attached that form. For state refunds, the refund section for state income tax return forms varies from state to state.
