Retirement Income Planner

How the Tool Works

You provide information about your anticipated expenses, retirement income, assets, and comfort with investment risk. We analyze your situation using hypothetical historical market simulations to suggest different ways for you to help make your money last. When you're done you'll have an Action Plan which estimates how much money you may safely spend, and some of the next steps you can take to put your plan into motion.

Before You Begin

The more details you provide, the more appropriate our suggestions can be. You may want to gather the following:
  • Retirement account statements (many of your Fidelity accounts are pre-filled)
  • List of monthly bills
  • Actual or estimated Social Security payments
  • Actual or estimated pension payments
  • Bank Statements

The tool's illustrations result from running a minimum of 250 hypothetical market simulations. The market return data used to generate the illustration is intended to provide you with a general idea of how asset mixes have performed historically. Our analysis assumes a level of diversity within each asset class consistent with a market index benchmark that may differ from the diversity of your own portfolio.
IMPORTANT: The projections or other information generated by Fidelity’s Retirement Income Planner regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. Results may vary with each use and over time.
