How Fidelity Can Help
Fidelity Retirement Income Advantage is a new set of products and services designed to help you plan, invest and manage your income for living in retirement. Working with a Financial Planning Consultant – or on your own, if you prefer – you create a comprehensive retirement income plan to meet your expenses throughout your lifetime. We'll review your investments, risk tolerance and time frame and then suggest an asset allocation and specific investments. We'll also work with you to create and manage a sustainable withdrawal strategy.
There are three phases to our Fidelity Retirement Income Advantage program:
1.   Planning
2.   Investing
3.   Income Management
1. Planning
First, we assess your vulnerability to the key risks to your retirement income:
1.   Longevity. What if you live longer than you expect?
2.   Inflation. Can you protect the purchasing power of your savings?
3.   Asset allocation. Will your investments grow quickly enough to sustain your lifestyle?
4.   Withdrawal rates. How much can you withdraw from your savings without depleting them too soon?
5.   Health care costs. Are you prepared to meet the soaring costs?
Based on these risks, we develop an investment plan to help you grow your portfolio while strategically withdrawing the income you need. Our Financial Planning Consultants can help you decide how to take required minimum withdrawals from IRAs, when to take your Social Security benefits and which of your accounts to draw down first.
Once your plan is in place, we'll help you monitor it regularly and schedule an annual review.
2. Investing
We'll work with you to create an asset allocation to meet your needs and help you choose from an extensive array of mutual funds, money management services and insurance strategies. We'll also help with transactions to implement your plan then support you with reminders to review and revise your plan regularly so you stay on track.
3. Income Management
With a retirement income plan in place, you need to actively monitor your retirement finances and review your plan annually. The Income Management Account (IMA) simplifies the tracking of your income, expenses, and assets so you can manage your complete financial situation with confidence.
